Pilots: Humans
Join us as we discuss the pilot episode of Channel 4’s Humans.
We discuss the the first episode of Humans for just over one hour, and we discuss the staggering magnificence that is Will Tudor’s performance (and his fluffy jumper and his tiny little face), for about a quarter of that time. Oops?
Pst… We love him.

Yes, the amount of shows we gave a chance to because someone from Merlin is in it! (and that one audiobook narrated by Bradley) 😆 Though, for the most part they’ve introduced me to some interesting characters and stories.* Like Humans, which has some great food for thought. But I have to agree with your comment that I couldn’t really warm to anyone.
I think one of the best things about this show is the synth-acting. Gemma Chan is simply impeccable and Will Tudor of course. I was so impressed to then see him in Shadowhunters, being pretty much the opposite of Odie.
One thing I sorely miss in some of the Merlin cast’s later chracters is a sense of humour. And I don’t mean that in a comedic sense. With Merlin/Arthur there’s a sublime mix of the light and the emotional, so with Leo I think I’ve missed some lightness to his character. Otherwise he is an interesting ‘hybrid’ character, once you find out more of his history, and had a lot of potential.
Ok will try not to spoil the ending, but let’s just say Leo gets to be in an interesting crossroads. And the ending was enough of a closure for me even though it sort of hinted at a big next phase.
*Note: please see Netflix’s Love in the Villa with Tom Hopper. His character is the snarky romantic lead we totally need, and dare I say, a bit Lowell-esque?!
