We’re continuing with our reading of The City of Bones, the first in The Mortal Instruments series with chapters 14 – 20. We spent half the podcast with mating seagulls outside our window, so we apologise for any… excited bird calls in the background.
We’re continuing with our reading of The City of Bones, the first in The Mortal Instruments series with chapters 10-13, in which we meet Magnus! (Apologies for previous misinformation re chapter 14 – these chapters were heftier than we’d thought! We’ll kick off with chapter 14 next time).
In light of recent news, we have decided to postpone bookclub for a week, because we don’t feel that anyone is in the right head space at the moment.
Instead we thought we would bring forward one of our hiatus episodes: 30 Questions! We answer difficult questions, while drinking alcohol, because hey, we’re still on holiday! (Have a read of Faejilly’s meta twitter thread we mentioned!) We also talk about #SaveShadowhunters and the many reasons we love fandom at the moment!
A note from Ruth: I call brother Zachariah brother Jeremiah. I am very silly and it only serves me right for drinking whilst podcasting.
Answer the questions and @ us on Twitter and tag it #SaveShadowhunters to have some fun and do your part in the fight!
So… bombshell dropped, fandom reeling, where do we go from here?
Not only have we just had the news that Shadowhunters will not be returning for a season 4 – we’re not crying, you’re crying! 🙁 – but also that 3b is not going to be returning ’til Spring 2019. Maybe we are crying a little…
So what does this mean for us? More hiatus episodes that’s what it means! Hold on to your hats, guys, our schedule is in for a bumpy ride.
To kick of the Shadowhunter Hiatus (WOE) we figured we would give you some suggestions on how to keep busy, during this difficult time.
We discuss Black Sails (TV), The Dresden Files (Book), The Amulet of Samarkand (Book) and our overwhelming, and possibly unhealthy, love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV) as well as talking about fandom and how we got into it. That should hopefully keep you busy for a while!
