Episode 44 of The Descent Is Easy discusses Beati Bellicosi, Episode 13 of Season 3 of Shadowhunters.
An episode that slightly resets all of our characters and pretends that episode 11 and 12 kind of didn’t happen… However the reset is totally worth it! Clary and Jace get it on, and the Maruke sets sail, and we are here for it!!

I just watched the ep for the second time and I’m still not sure if I have anything interesting to say about this ep. I just didn’t like it all that much. I liked certain bits but overall, this was my least favourite of 3b so far.
It’s hard to put my finger on why I found this such a weak ep… everyone was so stupid! Jordan was being an idiot, all the vampires were being idiots for just believing Heidi and falling for her lies so easily. Luke was dismissive of Maia’s concerns, there was no Jonathan, why didn’t they ask Magnus to come help crack the code? And even Clace was boring. And I normally enjoy their scenes together but their chemistry seemed off this time. We still didn’t get any Luke/Clary reunion scene… don’t get me started on the whole Russell thing. I’m still not over that, I even stopped the rewatch just before he died… 😭
I did love all the Lightwood family scenes, it was so good to have Maryse back. Maruke is on the rise, yes! I thought they handled the Maia/Simon break-up well. I kind of liked the cliffhanger ending. But somebody please kill Heidi soon!
And thank you for pointing out that Russell had a beard. On first watch, I knew there was something different about him but i couldn’t figure out what. 🤔
My MVP this week was Russell for kicking ass and an honourary mention goes to Alec’s sexy jacket.

I mean, Jordan was really messed up so that could be why. But yeah, bad leadership choices.

yeah, I missed malec, too, though I do LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing Alec with people other than Magnus, because they are an awesome power couple, but they are also two awesome characters!! and while it would have been nice to see Magnus do more with other people, just the fact that he got to talk to Izzy had me excited! lol
